WTS Wehrli Traction Shoe − Application

Draw a line approx. 8mm in front ot the middle of the digit. The rotation point of the hoof joint is situatied at the point where this line crosses the coronary band.

Draw a vertical line downwards from the rotation point of the hoof joint.

The base of the frog determines the longitudinal axis.

Check that the widest part of the hoof is where the vertical line drawn from the rotation point of the hoof joint meets the ground. Then draw the longitudinal and the transversal axis with the borehole marker and the WTS template.

Draw the shape of the hoof on the shoe, measure and draw the position of the white line, and mark the nail holes.
